Twilight is probably the most popular book series with teenage girls right now. It is a series of four books and if you haven’t read it …….you must. Twilight is the first book of this series. Bella is a some what normal teenage girl. Her parents are divorced and she now lives with her Dad. Her view of the world is dim. She isn’t big on socializing and the whole world seems dull and boring….that is until she meets Edward. Edward Cullen ,a mysterious boy at her high school, soon takes her through a whole new world of magic, love, and …vampires. This book is amazing and even if your not big on romances you need to give it a try. Its about PG level and probably one of the best romances of its kind.

The story takes place in Frell which is a land unlike most. Its a land with fairies, kings, and magic, and in this land lives a girl called Ella. On the day that Ella is born a fairy gives her a gift. Instead of being exceptionally beautiful or talented she is given the gift of obedience. Ella is forced to do all sorts of things simply because one told her to. She has no choices or free will. Instead of giving up however, Ella goes on determined to rid herself of the spell challenging anyone in her way. This book is a wonderful retelling of Cinderella full of action, comedy and romance.

Eragon is a wonderful fantasy taking place in a beautiful land called Alagasia. The story is about a young man named Eragon who finds a mysterious stone in the mountains by his home. Not knowing what the stone is, he takes the stone to his village to find out its worth. Little did he know that that stone was a dragon egg. It hatches for Eragon and both there adventures begin. They travel all over the land, searching for the beasts you killed his Uncle and start to discover the magic that lies within themselves.

This book takes place about two weeks after the end of the first book, Eragon. Eragon fights off a surprise urgal invasion but, he cannot save his best friend Murtach and two great magicians, the twins. Eragon is forced to go to the city of Ellesmera, where he can train with the elves. He and his crush, Arya go on a long journey. They finally come to the edge of the great forest. They find elves that help them to get to Ellesmera. When they finally get there, Eragon starts to train with Oromis, sort of like a Yoda to Luke. After a while, Eragon learns that a war is about to start and retreats to the battle. At the battle, Eragon learns that another dragon has hatched, and it belongs to Murtach! He spares his life and leaves Eragon, and then the story ends for now.
This book was very exciting to read. I loved every page of it. There are absolutely no flaws. I completely felt like I was in the story, as an invisible narrator. I just loved the books ending. Showing that Murtach was Eragon’s rival almost made me cry because he was such a good character and person. I loved what Eragon ended up having to do, pleading for his life to Murtach.
I think that one way the author uses vocabulary in a cool way is when he uses the ancient language: the language of power that gives you control over anything in the book. For example: “brisingr”, it does not mean fire but it is fire, and saying the word will give you complete control over it. The author makes his dialogue sort of modern/ medieval way of speaking. I think the author’s voice takes the place of your own voice, and you, the reader, is becomes the invisible narrator.
Compared to other books I have read, I would give this book a 5/5 because of the action, adventure, love, and surprise twists that the story takes. I highly recommend it.
In conclusion, Eldest is about as good as books can get these days, and I loved it. I cannot wait for the third book, which is supposed to come out sometime soon.
